Description

A fast and flavorful beef and green bean stir fry that comes together in just 20 minutes, featuring tender beef, crisp green beans, and a savory glossy sauce perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • Flank steak (1 pound, thinly sliced)
  • Fresh green beans (12 ounces, trimmed)
  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
  • Soy sauce (¼ cup)
  • Water (¼ cup)
  • Brown sugar (1 tablespoon)
  • Cornstarch (1 tablespoon)
  • Vegetable oil (2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Add vegetable oil to the hot pan and swirl to coat.
  4. Add the sliced flank steak and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  5. Add green beans and minced garlic to the same pan and stir fry for 3 to 4 minutes until the beans are crisp tender.
  6. Return the beef to the pan and pour in the sauce mixture.
  7. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  8. Serve hot immediately.

Notes

  • Slice beef thinly against the grain for best tenderness.
  • Keep the pan hot for proper searing.
  • Stir the sauce again before adding to redistribute cornstarch.
