Description

This almond stuffed French toast combines creamy almond filling with crispy golden bread, making it the perfect indulgent breakfast or brunch treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices thick-sliced brioche bread
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
  • Maple syrup, for serving
  • Optional: sliced almonds, fresh berries, powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, mix cream cheese, almond butter, and powdered sugar until well combined.
  3. Spread the almond filling onto three slices of brioche and top each with another slice to form sandwiches.
  4. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated.
  5. Heat butter in a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  6. Cook each stuffed toast for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve warm with maple syrup, and garnish with sliced almonds, berries, or powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale bread for better structure and soaking.
  • Let filling soften at room temperature for easier spreading.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure even browning.
