Description
A fresh, chunky avocado salsa made with ripe avocados, Roma tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt, and cumin. It is bright, creamy, zesty, and perfect for chips, tacos, bowls, or easy entertaining.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe avocados, diced
- 1 cup diced Roma tomatoes
- 1/3 cup finely diced red onion
- 1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Instructions
- Dice the avocados, Roma tomatoes, and red onion. Mince the jalapeño and garlic, then chop the cilantro.
- Add the avocados, tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and garlic to a medium mixing bowl.
- Pour in the fresh lime juice, then sprinkle over the kosher salt and ground cumin.
- Gently fold everything together until evenly combined, keeping the avocado pieces chunky.
- Let the salsa sit for 5 minutes so the flavors can meld.
- Taste and adjust with a little more lime juice or salt if needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, grain bowls, or grilled vegetables.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm avocados for the best chunky texture.
- Fresh lime juice gives the brightest flavor and helps slow browning.
- For a milder salsa, reduce the jalapeño or leave it out.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface for up to 1 day.
