Description

This Banana Bread Brown Sugar Cream Top Latte is a cozy, layered drink that tastes just like banana bread in a glass. With homemade banana syrup, rich coffee, creamy milk, and a whipped cream topping, it’s a comforting treat perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large very ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup cold brew or strong brewed coffee
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the mashed banana, brown sugar, water, and cinnamon. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and blend the mixture until smooth. Let it cool.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice. Add 2–3 tablespoons of banana syrup, followed by the cold brew and then the milk.
  4. Whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until thick but still pourable.
  5. Spoon the whipped cream over the drink and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
  6. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for maximum flavor and sweetness.
  • The banana syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less syrup to taste.
  • Try oat milk or almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • To serve hot, skip the ice and use steamed milk.
