Description

Juicy broiled steak paired with tender asparagus and finished with a tangy feta cream sauce. This Broiled Steak and Asparagus with Feta Cream Sauce is a quick, flavorful, and elegant meal perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Steak: 2 ribeye or strip steaks (about 1½ pounds total)
  • Asparagus: 1 pound, trimmed
  • Olive Oil: 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: ½ teaspoon
  • Feta Cheese: ¾ cup, crumbled
  • Greek Yogurt: ½ cup
  • Heavy Cream: ¼ cup
  • Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh Dill or Parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Set oven to broil and position rack 4–6 inches from heat source.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Rub steaks and asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Arrange on broiler pan.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Preheat a skillet for the sauce while steak cooks.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Broil steaks 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Broil asparagus 6–8 minutes, turning once.
  5. Cook to Perfection: In skillet, combine feta, yogurt, and cream. Stir until smooth, add lemon juice and herbs.
  6. Finishing Touches: Let steak rest 5 minutes, then slice. Arrange with asparagus and drizzle sauce over top.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Garnish with extra herbs and lemon zest, serve warm.

Notes

  • Use ribeye or strip steak for best results.
  • Thick asparagus holds up better under broiler heat.
  • Add lemon juice at the end to keep sauce from curdling.
