Description

Fudgy chocolate brownies swirled with tangy cheesecake for a rich, creamy, and irresistible dessert that’s easy to make and impossible to forget.

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 1/2 cup – Gives the brownie structure.
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: 1/3 cup – Deepens the chocolate flavor.
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon – Balances sweetness and enhances richness.
  • Butter: 1/2 cup, melted – Adds richness and fudginess.
  • Sugar: 3/4 cup – Sweetens and helps create a shiny top.
  • Eggs: 2 large – Bind the brownie and provide structure.
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon – Enhances both brownie and cheesecake layers.
  • Cream Cheese: 8 oz (1 block), softened – The creamy heart of the swirl.
  • Powdered Sugar: 1/3 cup – Sweetens the cheesecake layer gently.
  • Egg Yolk: 1 – Adds richness to the cheesecake.
  • Optional Chocolate Chips: 1/2 cup – For pockets of melty chocolate throughout.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Stir in eggs and vanilla until smooth. Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold gently until a thick batter forms.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Spread 3/4 of the brownie batter into the lined pan. Smooth evenly with a spatula.
  4. Assemble the Dish: In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Dollop cheesecake mixture over brownie batter. Add remaining brownie batter in spoonfuls on top.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Use a knife to gently swirl the two batters together. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is just set. Edges should be firm, center slightly jiggly.
  6. Finishing Touches: Cool completely in pan. Chill for at least 1 hour for clean slicing. Lift out using parchment and cut into squares.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve chilled or at room temp with a glass of milk, a scoop of ice cream, or a dusting of cocoa.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature cream cheese for smooth mixing.
  • Chill before slicing for the cleanest cuts.
  • Add espresso powder for a deeper chocolate flavor.
