Description

These Copycat Chick-fil-A Nuggets are crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of that iconic flavor. Perfectly marinated in pickle juice, lightly sweetened with powdered sugar, and fried to golden perfection, they’re the ultimate homemade fast-food fix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Peanut oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, pickle juice, and milk. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg. In a separate bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat peanut oil in a deep pan to 350°F.
  4. Dip marinated chicken into the egg, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  5. Fry chicken in small batches for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  6. Drain on paper towels or a wire rack before serving.

Notes

  • Marinate the chicken longer for even more flavor and tenderness.
  • Double coat the chicken for extra crunch.
  • Peanut oil gives the best flavor, but canola oil can be used in a pinch.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature for perfect frying.
