Description

A bright and refreshing summer drink made with watermelon, cucumber, fresh lemon juice, and ice for a cool homemade pitcher everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 cups ice cubes, plus more for serving if needed

Instructions

  1. Chill your serving glasses and gather the blender, fine-mesh strainer, and a large pitcher.
  2. Add the cubed watermelon, sliced cucumber, fresh lemon juice, cold water, maple syrup, and 2 cups of ice to the blender.
  3. Blend until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Place a fine-mesh strainer over a large pitcher.
  5. Pour the blended mixture through the strainer into the pitcher, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible.
  6. Stir well, then taste and adjust with a little more water for a lighter texture or a little more maple syrup for extra sweetness if needed.
  7. Serve over extra ice and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use ripe watermelon for the sweetest and most flavorful result.
  • Fresh lemon juice gives the drink a brighter taste than bottled juice.
  • For a smoother texture, do not skip straining.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and stir before serving.
