Description

This French Quarter Cheese Spread blends a creamy cheddar-garlic base with a warm, buttery pecan praline glaze. It’s sweet, savory, and perfect for entertaining — no oven required!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar, garlic, and Worcestershire until smooth. Shape onto a serving plate. Chill while you make the glaze.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter. Add brown sugar, Dijon, and cayenne. Stir until bubbly, about 2 minutes. Add pecans and stir to coat.
  3. Let glaze cool slightly. Pour over chilled cheese spread. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase cayenne to 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Use toasted pecans for extra crunch and depth of flavor.
  • Pairs well with buttery crackers, apple slices, or crostini.
  • Make ahead by storing the cheese base and glaze separately, then combine just before serving.
