- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 3 tablespoons water (slurry)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
- Dip chicken pieces into beaten eggs, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, orange zest, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
- Toss fried chicken in the orange sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

- For extra crispiness, double-fry the chicken pieces.
- Adjust sugar and vinegar amounts to balance sweetness and tanginess to your taste.
- You can use bone-in chicken pieces, but cooking time will increase.
