Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80/20)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for topping)
- 1/3 cup ranch dressing
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 brioche buns, split
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 tablespoon butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat and brush grates with oil.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce. Form into 4 patties and press a thumbprint in the center of each.
- Place patties on the grill and cook for 4–5 minutes per side. Brush with barbecue sauce during the last 2 minutes and top with cheese to melt.
- Toast brioche buns on the grill with butter until golden.
- Spread ranch dressing on the bottom buns. Layer with lettuce, tomato, onion, and burger patties. Drizzle with extra barbecue sauce.
- Cap with top buns and serve immediately with fries or grilled corn.
Notes
- Use 80/20 ground beef for the juiciest burgers.
- Don’t press down on patties while cooking—it squeezes out juices.
- Cover grill briefly after adding cheese for the perfect melt.
