Description

Melty, crispy, and packed with seasoned beef and gooey cheese, this grilled cheese burrito brings bold flavor and ultimate comfort in every bite. A Tex-Mex fusion favorite made easy at home.

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef: 1 pound
  • Taco Seasoning: 2 tablespoons
  • Cooked White Rice: 1 cup
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese: 1 1/2 cups
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese: 1 cup
  • Sour Cream: 1/2 cup
  • Nacho Cheese Sauce: 1/2 cup
  • Tortillas (burrito size): 4
  • Butter or Oil: 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes. Meanwhile, mix sour cream and nacho cheese sauce in a bowl.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Lightly butter one side of each tortilla. Lay them butter-side down when ready to grill.
  4. Assemble the Dish: On the unbuttered side, layer 1/4 cup cooked rice, seasoned beef, cheese sauce mix, and a handful of both cheeses. Roll tightly into a burrito.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Place burritos seam-side down on the skillet. Grill 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Finishing Touches: Press gently with a spatula as it cooks. Let cool for a minute before slicing.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Slice in half and serve with salsa, guacamole, or extra cheese sauce.

Notes

  • Warm tortillas before assembling to prevent cracking.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt.
  • Don’t overfill to make wrapping and grilling easier.
