Description

Flaky puff pastry filled with juicy, spiced ground beef and aromatic herbs, these Ground Beef Stuffed Pastries are the perfect savory snack or meal centerpiece.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing and brushing)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (392°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 more minutes. Mix in parsley if using. Let filling cool.
  4. Roll out puff pastry and cut each sheet into 4 squares (8 total).
  5. Spoon filling onto one side of each square, fold over to seal, and crimp with a fork. Brush tops with egg.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

  • Cool the filling completely before assembling to avoid soggy pastry.
  • Freeze unbaked pastries for later and bake straight from frozen.
