Description

A crispy chicken burger drizzled with spicy-sweet hot honey, layered with tangy pickles and creamy slaw on a toasted brioche bun — the ultimate comfort bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Neutral oil for frying
  • 4 brioche buns, toasted
  • 812 pickle slices
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup hot honey

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken thighs in buttermilk with salt and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat to 350°F.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade, dredge in seasoned flour, pressing firmly for a thick coating.
  5. Fry chicken 5–7 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Let rest on wire rack.
  6. In a small bowl, mix coleslaw mix, mayo, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  7. Warm hot honey in a small saucepan or microwave.
  8. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, slaw, crispy chicken, pickles, hot honey drizzle, top bun. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a thermometer to maintain consistent oil temperature while frying.
  • Let chicken rest before assembling to keep coating crispy.
  • Drizzle hot honey right before serving to avoid soggy breading.
  • To adjust spice level, control the amount of chili in the hot honey.
