Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
- ¼ cup honey
- 1–2 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (optional for brightness)
- Optional toppings: chopped pecans, parsley, flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, toss sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any optional spices. Spread on the baking sheet in a single layer.
- Roast for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and slightly crisped.
- While roasting, combine honey and chili flakes in a small saucepan. Warm gently for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in vinegar or lemon juice if using.
- Drizzle hot honey over the roasted sweet potatoes and toss to coat. Garnish with optional toppings and serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust chili flakes for more or less heat in your hot honey.
- Try maple syrup instead of honey for a vegan version.
- Serve as a side dish, snack, or on grain bowls and salads.
