Description

Juicy Korean-inspired meatballs coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory BBQ-style glaze, perfect for weeknight dinners or sharing with friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, and green onions until just mixed.
  3. Roll the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.
  4. Place meatballs in the heated skillet and cook, turning gently, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and rice vinegar.
  6. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the meatballs and stir gently to coat.
  7. Add the cornstarch slurry and simmer until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  8. Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Keep heat moderate to prevent the sauce from burning.
  • Do not overmix the meat mixture to keep meatballs tender.
  • The sauce will thicken slightly more as it cools.
