Description

These golden, crispy Mozzarella Snuggets are bite-sized delights filled with gooey melted cheese and coated in a flavorful, herby breadcrumb crust. Perfect for snacking, sharing, or serving at parties, they’re quick to make and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Pour vegetable oil into a heavy-bottomed pan about 2 inches deep and heat to 350°F.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and a mix of breadcrumbs, garlic powder, oregano, and salt in the third.
  3. Line a plate with paper towels for draining fried nuggets.
  4. Dip each mozzarella cube in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. For an extra crunchy shell, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step.
  5. Fry in batches for about 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
  6. Remove with tongs and drain on paper towels. Let them rest for a minute before serving.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Chill the cheese cubes before breading for best frying results.
  • Double coating helps prevent the cheese from leaking out.
  • Try baking or air-frying as a healthier alternative.
