Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1 large egg (for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for topping)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, melt butter. Stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan and smooth top.
  3. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, egg, vanilla, and melted butter. Stir in chopped pecans.
  4. Pour pecan mixture evenly over brownie batter.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until center is just set and topping is golden.
  6. Cool completely before slicing. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Let the brownies cool fully before cutting to keep layers clean.
  • Toast pecans for deeper flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temp for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
