- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Season salmon with salt and pepper. In a bowl, whisk together broth, heavy cream, and flour.
- Add olive oil to the skillet and heat until shimmering.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until cooked through. Set aside.
- In the saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Stir in the cream mixture and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Add chopped dill and lemon juice. Stir to combine and season to taste.
- Pour sauce over salmon and serve immediately with your choice of sides.
Notes
- Use fresh dill for the best flavor.
- Don’t add lemon juice too early to avoid curdling the cream.
- Let salmon rest for a couple minutes before serving for juicier texture.
