These Steak & Onion Jus Chip Flatbreads are a delicious mashup of pub-style comfort and homemade ease. Juicy steak, crispy chips, and a rich onion jus come together in a warm flatbread for a dish that’s hearty, satisfying, and packed with flavor.

- 4 large flatbreads
- 500g steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- 3 cups cooked potato chips (fries)
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 1 ½ cups beef stock
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Optional: garlic mayo or aioli
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- In a saucepan, heat 1 tbsp olive oil. Add onions and garlic, sauté until golden (10 mins). Add beef stock and simmer for 10 more minutes. Stir in butter, season, and set aside.
- Arrange chips on a tray and bake until crisp. Season steak with salt and pepper.
- Sear steak in hot skillet for 3–4 mins per side. Rest, then slice thinly. Toast flatbreads in a dry pan.
- Layer flatbreads with chips, steak, and a drizzle of onion jus.
- Top with parsley and optional garlic mayo.
- Serve immediately with extra jus on the side.
