Description
A refreshing strawberry iced latte made with real strawberries, creamy milk, and smooth espresso, layered beautifully for a cafe-style drink at home.
Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries: 1 cup, hulled and chopped
- Granulated sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Water: 2 tablespoons
- Milk: 1 cup, cold
- Espresso or strong brewed coffee: 1 shot or 1/2 cup, cooled
- Ice cubes: 1 cup
Instructions
- Add chopped strawberries, sugar, and water to a small saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and release their juices.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and let the syrup cool completely.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cooled strawberry syrup over the ice.
- Add the cold milk gently to create a layer.
- Slowly pour the cooled espresso or coffee over the milk.
- Stir lightly before drinking and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use ripe strawberries for the best natural sweetness.
- Adjust the amount of syrup based on how sweet you like your drink.
- Chill the coffee before using to keep the ice from melting too quickly.
