Description

Silky spaghetti tossed in rich garlic butter sauce with spicy chili oil, parmesan cheese, and fresh parsley for an easy and flavorful pasta dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces spaghetti pasta
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 garlic cloves thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons chili oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the spaghetti until al dente according to package instructions, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter and add sliced garlic.
  4. Cook the garlic gently for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
  5. Stir in chili oil and red pepper flakes.
  6. Add the drained pasta directly into the skillet.
  7. Toss the pasta with the sauce while gradually adding reserved pasta water and parmesan cheese until glossy and silky.
  8. Add black pepper and chopped parsley, tossing gently to combine.
  9. Serve immediately with extra parmesan and chili oil if desired.

Notes

  • Reserve pasta water before draining for the best silky sauce.
  • Cook garlic gently to avoid bitterness.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for smoother melting.
  • Add extra chili oil for stronger heat.
