Description

Golden brioche French toast soaked in a cinnamon vanilla custard, cooked until crisp on the outside and soft inside, then topped with rich dulce de leche, fresh strawberries, bananas, and powdered sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 thick slices brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup dulce de leche
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 sliced banana
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Whisk together eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Melt butter in the skillet.
  4. Dip each brioche slice into the custard mixture, coating both sides lightly.
  5. Cook the bread for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp at the edges.
  6. Warm the dulce de leche slightly for easier drizzling.
  7. Top the French toast with dulce de leche, sliced strawberries, bananas, and powdered sugar.
  8. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale brioche for the best texture.
  • Cook over medium heat to avoid burning.
  • Warm serving plates to keep the toast hot longer.
  • Add toasted pecans for extra crunch.
