Description

A bold and cheesy Ground Beef Birria Pizza loaded with seasoned beef, melted mozzarella, fresh cilantro, onions, and served with rich consommé for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound prepared pizza dough
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F and heat a pizza stone or baking pan inside the oven.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, diced onion, and garlic. Cook until browned.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Pour in beef broth and simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Roll pizza dough into a large circle and transfer to parchment paper or pizza pan.
  6. Spread mozzarella cheese evenly across the dough.
  7. Spoon the beef mixture over the cheese and add extra onions if desired.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Top with chopped cilantro and serve with warm consommé for dipping.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for smoother melting.
  • Do not overload the pizza with broth to keep the crust crispy.
  • Warm the consommé separately before serving.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
