Description

A loaded Italian chopped sandwich packed with salami, turkey, provolone, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, banana peppers, and creamy dressing inside toasted hoagie rolls.


Ingredients

  • 4 large hoagie rolls, lightly toasted
  • 6 ounces salami, chopped
  • 6 ounces turkey slices, chopped
  • 6 slices provolone cheese, chopped
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup banana peppers, sliced
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Lightly toast the hoagie rolls in a 375°F oven for 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. On a large cutting board, pile salami, turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and banana peppers together.
  3. Use a sharp knife to chop everything repeatedly until evenly mixed and finely chopped.
  4. Transfer the chopped mixture to a bowl.
  5. Toss with mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, olive oil, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt.
  6. Let the filling rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Spoon the chopped filling generously into the toasted hoagie rolls.
  8. Slice sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
