Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/3 cup toasted hazelnuts, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a doughnut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix egg, milk, maple syrup, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into doughnut pan cavities, filling 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until tops spring back when touched.
  7. Cool in pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk to make glaze.
  9. Dip cooled doughnuts into glaze and top with chopped hazelnuts.
  10. Let set slightly before serving.
