Description

Creamy smoked turkey garlic mushroom chicken made in one skillet with tender chicken, smoky turkey, mushrooms, garlic, parmesan, and a rich savory cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup smoked turkey strips, sliced thin
  • 12 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Add chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 5 to 6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened and browned.
  5. Stir in garlic and smoked turkey, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and scrape the skillet gently.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until sauce thickens and chicken is fully cooked.
  9. Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Freshly grated parmesan melts more smoothly into the sauce.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet while browning chicken.
  • Serve with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream to keep the sauce silky.
