- Large Shrimp: 8 oz, peeled and deveined – brings sweetness and succulent texture
- Soy Sauce: 3 tablespoons – adds salty umami depth
- Oyster Sauce: 2 tablespoons – provides rich, slightly sweet flavor
- Dark Soy Sauce: 1 tablespoon – adds color and robust taste
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced – aromatic and bold
- Ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated – adds warmth and zing
- Brown Sugar: 1 teaspoon – balances the saltiness with subtle sweetness
- Cooked Egg Noodles or Lo Mein: 10 oz – chewy and perfect for soaking up sauce
- Sesame Oil: 1 tablespoon – adds nutty depth
- Vegetable Oil: 2 tablespoons – for high-heat cooking
- Carrot: 1, julienned – brings crunch and color
- Red Bell Pepper: ½, sliced – adds sweetness and vibrancy
- Scallions: 2, sliced – bright and fresh finish
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Heat your wok or large skillet over high heat until it just starts to smoke.
- Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Divide half to marinate the steak and shrimp separately for 10 minutes.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Add vegetable oil to the hot wok. Sear the steak slices in batches until browned. Remove and repeat with shrimp until pink and opaque. Set both aside.
- Assemble the Dish: In the same wok, add sesame oil and sauté carrots and bell peppers until just tender. Add cooked noodles and pour in remaining sauce. Toss well to coat.
- Cook to Perfection: Return steak and shrimp to the wok. Stir-fry everything together for 1–2 minutes, letting the noodles absorb the sauce.
- Finishing Touches: Toss in scallions, give one final flip, and remove from heat. Add a sprinkle of sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve and Enjoy: Plate immediately while hot. Serve with chili oil or lime wedges for an extra kick.
Notes
- Slice steak against the grain for extra tenderness.
- Use chilled cooked noodles for best texture.
- Don’t overcrowd the wok—cook in batches if needed.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, chili oil, or cilantro for extra flair.
